Reiki Just for today, have no anger,
Just for today,
have no worry,

Be grateful and humble,

Do your work with appreciation,

Be kind to all.

Reiki is a gentle healing modality. In the west, it is generally taught as a way to healing yourself and others.

Usui

In Japan, where it was developed by Mikao Usui in the early 1900's, it was a way of achieving enlightenment.
It allows you to heal your self and others by the laying on of hands.

It is not a religion or cult and has no religious affiliations.

There are many versions of how Reiki came to the Western world and as many variations on how to teach and learn it.
Be open to all methods and be mindful while you are using Reiki.

Payment The issue of payment continues to divide the global Reiki community. Some say it is Divine Energy so therefore it should be free. Others say that they have paid for their training, so they are entitled to receive payment in return. You may wish to get a monetary return for the time you have spent with the client.I do some treatments for free, some for exchange and some for money. I go with what feels right at the time, but I lean more toward having a return for the time I have invested with that person, much in the same way that I receive an hourly rate from an employer. If I give a “free” treatment, then I look upon it as part of a 10% tithe to the universe. I feel that an exchange is better as the other person has made an investment of sorts into the transaction and therefore values the treatment more.
